The Weather Channel Revisits `StormWeek'

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 10/1/2001 2:49:00 PM

The Weather Channel will reprise its 'StormWeek' programming stunt later this month.

The network announced Monday that it will again explore the world of tornadoes, hurricanes and blizzards through one-hour specials at 9 p.m. Oct. 15, 16 and 17, respectively. TWC will conclude StormWeek with World's Worst Weather Oct. 18 at that time.

In premiering the stunt June 4 through 7, TWC notched a 0.7 average, a record for one-hour specials, according to Nielsen Media Research.

This time around, TWC will support StormWeek with an online poll. From Oct. 8 through 18, users can log onto weather.com to answer a related question each day. After voting, users will be linked to a page where they will find updated results about the poll topic and a chance to read the online StormWeek report. Following each installment, the results of the poll questions relevant to that night's show will be announced on-air.
