SoapNet has corralled exclusive broadcast rights to all 13 seasons of primetime soap opera Dallas from Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution.
The multiyear deal, terms of which were not disclosed, gives SoapNet the rights to all 356 installments involving J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman).
In its heyday, Dallas ranked first (three times) or second for CBS from the 1980-81 to the 1984-85 TV seasons.
It premiered April 2, 1978, chronicling the doings and misdeeds of the oil-rich Ewing clan on the Southfork Ranch.
SoapNet -- which also holds rights to Dallas spinoff Knots Landing and imitator Dynasty -- plans to strip the series during daytime beginning Sept. 8.
SoapNet began airing former NBC soap Another World July 1 after acquiring the rights to some 9,000 episodes of the long-running series from Procter & Gamble Co.
