CAB Taking Feb. Confab on the Road

The Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau announced Tuesday that its 2003 Cable Advertising Conference will take place Feb. 11, once again at New York's Marriott Marquis.
But the CAB also added a new wrinkle: It will stage similar events for ad agencies and clients in Detroit, Chicago and Los Angeles later that month.
AOL Time Warner Inc. CEO Richard Parsons has been set as the luncheon keynote speaker for the Manhattan conference.
CAB CEO Joseph Ostrow explained the strategy in a prepared statement by saying, 'The additional locations will allow us to more effectively address the specific interests of media planners and buyers in those markets.'
Ostrow said the Los Angeles conference will be held Feb. 13, in association with the Advertising Club of Los Angeles, with Detroit's slated for Feb. 21, in conjunction with the Adcraft Club of Detroit, and Chicago's scheduled for Feb. 27, in association with the Broadcast Advertising Club of Chicago.
Speaking of Chicago, the CAB's Local Cable Sales Management Conference will be held in the 'Windy City' next spring.
