ESPN announced Monday that "ESPN The House -- Bring Football Home," its fall-2003 affiliate promotion for the National Football League, will run throughout October.
Noting that the promotion period spans from Oct. 1-31, the promotion will have local ad-sales and marketing components for the participating affiliates.
ESPN said its grand prize will transform the winner's home into "a football destination," where ESPN commentators and crew will attend a "house-warming party," according to vice president of affiliate ad sales and brand extension marketing Gary Perrelli.
Promo materials for affiliates will include two taggable promo spots, point-of-sale displays and "NFL on ESPN" pocket schedules.
In addition to the one national grand-prize winner, ESPN said there will be local prize winners, with the amount of those prizes based on the number of subscribers each participating system has.
ESPN is projecting that 525 affiliates reaching 63 million subscribers will take the NFL promotion. Last fall, its NFL promotion attracted 501 participating affiliates reaching 61.3 million subscribers and generating $33 million in local ad revenues.
