EchoStar Might Buy WSNet Assets

EchoStar Communications Corp. has surfaced as one of the bidders for the assets of WSNet Inc., the bankrupt provider of programming and transport services to small cable operators and apartment buildings.

WSNet was set to shut down its operations Friday.

Sources said Friday that EchoStar was in negotiations with WSNet and could reach a deal later that day. EchoStar declined comment.
