Gigabit-Ethernet-technology provider Internet Photonics added some cable weight to its executive ranks, appointing Peter Dale vice president of its cable-business unit and naming Stephen Dukes chairman of its technical-advisory board.
Dale, formerly vice president of North American sales for Narad Networks Inc., will be responsible for sales and marketing to cable customers.
Dukes, now president and CEO of Imaginary Universes, was an executive at MediaOne Labs and Tele-Communications Inc., and he also served as CEO of MCNS Holdings and Cable Television Laboratories Inc.
The moves are aimed at strengthening the optical-data-transport start-up's visibility in the cable market, according to president and CEO Gregory Koss.
"Recognizing the tremendous success Internet Photonics has had in selling its optical-Ethernet-transport solutions to cable operators, we have hired an industry leader in Peter Dale to help us work closer with the executive ranks of our customers," he said.
"The appointment of Stephen Dukes as chair of our technical-advisory board is an important step toward ensuring that Internet Photonics is provided with the best advice when evaluating product features and industry trends," Koss added.
