The Weather Channel's 'Storm Week' boosted the service's primetime ratings last week but fell short of the mark produced by its predecessor last year.
From April 1 through 5, TWC averaged a 0.6 rating with Storm Week, down from the 0.7 the stunt averaged during the same nights of the week last June 1 through 4, according to Nielsen Media Research data supplied by the network.
The 0.6 average marked an 89 percent improvement over the time slot's average during the first quarter.
The highest-rated episode of this year's series was Tornado April 2, which registered a 0.75 rating, delivering 631,000 households. The second-highest-rated episode was Hurricane, notching a 0.6 rating April 1.
Last June's airing of Hurricane produced a 0.8 rating, making it the highest-ranked program in the network's history during non-severe-weather programming.
A fifth night of Storm Week, April 5, also showed a ratings increase, but it was not as great as on the other four nights, according to the network.
