SCTE Honors Armstrong Cable, Hranac

The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers handed out its “SCTE Chairman’s Award” and “SCTE 2004 Member of the Year” award Wednesday.
SCTE chairman Wayne Hall said Armstrong Cable Services received the Chairman’s Award for supporting the trade group’s Penn-Ohio chapter, deploying new technology in rapid fashion, excelling in SCTE certification and offering “tremendous general support for the SCTE mission of professional development, information and standards.”
The Member of the Year honor went to Cisco Systems Inc. consulting systems engineer Ronald J. Hranac, a two-time SCTE president.
The award is presented annually to recognize the SCTE member who has made the most significant contributions to the organization through active involvement in its programs and efforts during the past year.
“Helping fellow members is second nature to this gentleman,” SCTE CEO John Clark said in a prepared statement. “He is a very popular and frequent speaker at SCTE chapter meetings. He juggles his schedule to continue making important contributions to the SCTE Planning Committee. And, very important, this past year, he has chaired the SCTE International Committee.”
