Knology Inc. said Wednesday that it has launched local and long-distance phone service in Pinellas County, Fla.
The telephony service is currently available in Dunedin, and the rest of the MSO’s service area in the county should be activated within the next year, the company said.
Knology said it will offer residential service, local and long-distance service, more than 20 custom and advanced calling features, directory services and voice mail. Business phone service will also be available, the MSO added.
Knology bought the Pinellas County system in December 2003 as part of a $17 million deal with Verizon Media Ventures Inc. in which it also acquired the system in Cerritos, Calif., which it sold to Orange Broadband for $14.8 million in cash.
