Adelphia

Dick Tuthill joined Adelphia Communications Corp. as general manager of its northern Vermont sytems. Tuthill previously served as director of operations for Charter Communications Inc. in Worcester, Mass.

ANSI

The American National Standards Institute elected Stephen Oksala to its board of directors. Oksala is the vice president of standards for the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers.

IFC

Jeff Jackson was appointed director of strategic partnerships for The Independent Film Channel's new consumer marketing division. Jackson will oversee all marketing, promotional and corporate sponsorship programs.

CT&C

The Cable Television & Communications Association of Illinois named K.C. McWilliams chairman of the board. McWilliams, district vice president of Insight Communications Co.'s Rockford, Ill., operations is the first woman to be appointed to that position.

Charter

J. Christian Fenger and William Shreffler were both promoted to senior vice president of operations for Charter Communications Inc. Fenger will be in charge of the company's Western division, and Shreffler will be responsible for Charter's Central division.

Comcast

Comcast Cable Communications Inc. named Debbie Brodsky senior director of affiliate relations for Comcast Online. Brodsky previously served as senior director of content for the company.

Cox

Cox Communications, New England announced the following personnel changes: Brad Shipp was appointed vice president of information technology; Alan Gardiner was named vice president of network services; and Deborah Wilson assumed the position of vice president of human resources.

CTAM

The Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing announced new officers and board members for 2002. Kevin Leddy of Time Warner Cable will serve as chairman; Len Fogge of Showtime Networks Inc. will be vice chairman; Dave Watson of Comcast Cable Communications Inc. is the new secretary; Jim O'Brien of The Cable Center will be the treasurer; and Douglas Holloway will serve as immediate past chair. The new directors will be Brian Kelly of Time Warner Cable, Joe Rooney of Cox Communications Inc. and Brad Samuels of Comedy Central.

ESPN

Katina Arnold joined ESPN as director of affiliate and corporate communications. Arnold will be responsible for ESPN's announcements on affiliate sales and marketing initiatives.

Fox

Fox Cable Networks Group named Bruce Lefkowitz executive vice president of advertising sales, entertainment. Lefkowitz will head national advertising sales for FX Networks, National Geographic Channel and related media properties.

Fox Sports Net

Bill Bergofin was appointed vice president of regional marketing for Fox Sports Net. The network's southwest affiliate named Tony Martinez news director and Jeff Gibson director of news operations.

Global Media

Global Media Television named Joseph Scotti president of the company's North American operations. Scotti's responsibilities will include U.S. distribution of all programming produced by the company.

Intertainer

Chris Dorr was promoted to senior vice president of programming for Intertainer Inc. Dorr previously served as vice president of programming operations.

MuchMusic

Rainbow Media Holdings Inc. named Marc Juris president of MuchMusic USA. Juris will oversee all day-to-day operations of the network and lead its expansion across the country.

PCN

William Bova was promoted to vice president of programming for the Pennsylvania Cable Network. The network also promoted Debra Kohr Sheppard to vice president of operations.

Showtime

Showtime Networks Inc. appointed Danielle Gelber vice president of original programming. Gelber will be responsible for development and creative oversight of new Showtime series.

Sundance

Sundance Channel appointed Paola Freccero to senior vice president of film programming. Kirk Iwanowski was named senior vice president of marketing.

TBS

Turner Broadcasting System Inc. named Jack Wakshlag chief research officer. Wakschlag will oversee research for the company's news, entertainment and sports divisions. The company also promoted Michael Watchulonis to executive producer and director for TBS Superstation's public affairs department. Watchulonis will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department.

Turner South

Jennifer Wysocki was promoted to executive producer for Turner South's Liars and Legends and Off the Menu at Commander's Palace.

Varsity

Amy Teter joined Varsity Entertainment as producer and sales representative. Teter previously worked as a producer on shows for HBO, MTV, Lifetime and other networks.

International Channel

International Channel Networks appointed Berto Guzman senior vice president of affiliate relations and strategy.

The Madison Group

Fred Churchley joined The Madison Group Inc. as executive vice president. Churchley will be responsible for providing estate planning and wealth preservation solutions to cable industry clients.
