EchoStar Communications Corp. said Monday that it is adding four new Arabic-language channels to its Dish Network service.
The additions bring its Arabic-language video- and audio-channel count to 10 for the service. Dish has also repositioned its Arabic-language programming into two packages, which sell for $22.99 and $29.99 per month.
The new Arabic language channels are ESC-1 and Nile Drama (both Egyptian); Dubai Satellite Channel (from the United Arab Emirates); and Future TV (from Lebanon).
Through April 30, the four new Arabic channels will be available in free-preview mode to Dish customers with satellite dishes pointed at either the 61.5 degrees west or 148 degrees west longitude orbital locations.
Subscribers who also want access to the company's core English-language programming at 119 and 110 degrees would need second dishes.
