Sundance Keeps Polls Open for Tanner

Sundance Channel has voted to extend its remake of a seminal political series.
Originally planning three installment of Tanner on Tanner, the network said that in working with filmmakers Matthew Seig and Wren Arthur of Sandcastle 5 Productions they determined materials warranted pushing the limited skein to a fourth episode.
Tanner on Tanner bows on Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. with premiere episodes to follow in that time slot throughout the balance of the month. Additionally, a number of encore presentations are scheduled and a marathon is set for Oct. 31 at 5 p.m.
The series, blurring the lines between fact and drama, reunites the original cast of Home Box Office’s Tanner ’88: Cynthia Nixon as Alex Tanner; Michael Murphy as her father, Jack; Pamela Reed as T.J. Cavanaugh; Matt Malloy as Deke Connors; and Ilana Levine as Andrea Spinelli. The satirical series follows documentary filmmaker Alex Tanner as she tries to find the soul of the modern politician.
