Working Mothers Applaud Discovery

Discovery Communications Inc. made Working Mother magazine’s top 10 in the annual list of the "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers."

The magazine -- which has named Discovery to the top 100 for five straight years -- cited Discovery for variable work-start times; nine weeks of paid parental leave; and for such “small, ‘we get it’ perks like the pregnancy parking pass (letting soon-to-be moms park close to the office) to major lifesavers like 40 hours of paid dependent care for full-time employees (part-timers receive 20 hours).”

CEO Judith A. McHale was profiled as “2004 Family Champion” in the magazine’s October issue.
