ESPN, NFL Films Join Forces

ESPN will team up with the National Football League on a pair of original telepics.

The movies, as part of a multiyear development agreement, will be made in association with Emmy Award-winningNFL Films.

The first project under the new partnership is the previously announced The Ice Bowl. Currently in the development stage, ESPN's third original movie will trace the actual events as they unfolded Dec. 31, 1967, when the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers faced each other for the NFL championship on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis.

The movie is scheduled to bow Dec. 13 at 9 p.m.

Orly Adelson ofOrly Adelson Productions (The Truth About Jane, Love, Honor and Betrayal) will serve as executive producer. Adelson was executive producer of ESPN's second original film, The Junction Boys.
