QVC Signs Up for HD-PRIME Neighborhood

QVC Inc. signed a long-term transponder agreement for C-band service on SES Americom Inc.’s"HD-PRIME -- America’s Cable Neighborhood" service.
The electronic retailer’s cable network, which currently reaches 85 million U.S. homes, will be delivered by SES’ “AMC-10” satellite, the first of two that will support HD-PRIME.
AMC-10 -- an all-C-band next-generation satellite -- launched in February and will initiate service in May with 24 transponders at 135 degrees west longitude.
Other programmers slated to use HD-PRIME include A&E Television Networks, C-SPAN, Court TV, Crown Media Holdings Inc., Discovery Communications Inc., E! Networks, HSN, In Demand, Lifetime Entertainment Services, NBC, Scripps Networks, Viacom Inc. and The Weather Channel.
