America Online Inc. continues to add a cable flavor to its online service.
The nation's largest Internet-service provider has tapped Jeff Rowe as senior vice president and executive producer for the service, responsible for day-to-day oversight on the service's content offerings.
Rowe was general manager of Zap2It.com (http://www.zap2it.com/index) and Tribune Media Services Movie Products prior to joining AOL. He also spent six years at NBC in various promotion and programming posts, and he was a VP at VH1, working in the promotional and programming departments.
AOL's new 8.0 software, which debuts this fall, will have a host of music, movie and entertainment content.
