Sprint Dials Up Cartoon

Sprint Corp. launched two more multimedia channels from Turner Broadcasting System Inc. Monday.
Subscribers to its “Sprint PCS Vision” can now access streaming-video and audio content from “Cartoon Network Mobile” and “Adult Swim Mobile.”
Cartoon Network Mobile will feature video clips from original series including The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Dexter's Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls. Adult Swim Mobile will provide video clips from shows on Cartoon’s late-night block, including Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, The Venture Bros., Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sealab 2021.
Each Cartoon channel will cost $3.95 per month. The two Cartoon services join sister network Cable News Network on the Sprint PCS Vision multimedia service.
"This new venture represents a big step for Cartoon Network in our efforts to create distinctive 'micro-networks' -- additional entertainment sources that offer original programming within specific branded environments," Cartoon executive vice president and general manager Jim Samples said in a prepared statement.
“They truly are the ideal supplement to our television network and Web site (www.cartoonnetwork.com), a traveling companion for any fan of the fantastic or ridiculous,” he added.
