In a surprise announcement, veteran Fox Sports executive Tracy Dolgin resigned his post as president of Fox Sports Net to pursue other programming interests, possibly within the extreme-sports business, sources close to the situation said.
Fox Sports Networks president Bob Thompson will take over Dolgin's duties, which include oversight of Fox Sports Net's 21 affiliated regional sports networks.
Dolgin, whose contract with FSN expired at the end of 2003, was named president of the unit in 2000.
