MSNBC.com Gets ‘Really Simple’

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 10/15/2004 8:31:00 AM

MSNBC.com (www.msnbc.msn.com) said Friday that it has launched “Really Simple Syndication” feeds.

The RSS feature allows users to select their topics of interest for headline delivery to their desktops with one-click links to stories on the news network’s site.

When new headlines become available, users are alerted, and they can access their RSS reader to read the full story on MSNBC.com.

The 16 RSS feeds MSNBC.com is offering are: “Top News,” “U.S. News,” “International News,” “Politics,” “Business,” “Sports,” “Nightly News with Tom Brokaw,” “Dateline NBC,” Today,” “MSNBC TV,” “Technology and Science,” “Entertainment,” “Health,” “Opinions,” “Travel” and “Weather.”

“Our commitment is to deliver personally relevant and timely information to our users," MSNBC.com general manager and publisher Charles Tillinghast said in a prepared statement. "With this new feed, MSNBC.com can deliver on that commitment through the growing popularity of RSS.”
