Comcast Replaces Qwest on Fortune e-50

By Karen Brown -- Multichannel News, 7/26/2002 8:50:00 AM

Qwest Communications International Inc.'s downfall was Comcast Corp.'s gain.

The Philadelphia-based MSO will take the place of the embattled Baby Bell on the Fortune e-50 after the close of trading July 29.

Components are usually removed from the index if their closing share price falls below $5 with a daily trading volume of fewer than 100,000 shares. Qwest's closing price has dropped below that $5 mark during the past 25 trading days.

Developed by the editors of Fortune as a benchmark of the Internet economy, the components represent the strongest companies in the dot-com sector, including Internet communications, Internet hardware and Internet software and services.
