Broadcom, BroadLight Team Up on FTTP

Broadcom Corp. and BroadLight Inc. are broadly cooperating on fiber-to-the-premises deployments, the two companies announced Tuesday.

The two vendors will combine Broadcom’s integrated semiconductor solutions and BroadLight’s semiconductors, software and transceivers to “enable the rapid production of cost-effective FTTP optical-network units for delivering voice, video and data services to residential users,” they said in a prepared statement.

BroadLight and Broadcom will showcase their integrated FTTP solutions at Supercomm 2004 in Chicago June 22-24.
