A Discovery on the Front Porch

Front Porch Digital will develop new technologies and products for Discovery Communications Inc.’s network-origination centers under a deal announced Wednesday.

Front Porch develops software and services that convert audio, video, images, text and data into digital formats that enable searching, browsing, editing, storage and on-demand delivery of content in nearly any other digital format through a single capture.

“As the world's leading real-world media and entertainment company, our sophisticated network-origination centers must have the highest levels of reliability and efficiency," Discovery Media Services executive vice president Marcos Obadia said in a prepared statement.

“Front Porch has the most robust solution set for digital work-flow interoperability and has proven interconnection with multiple components of the digital-content supply chain,” he added.
