By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 3/10/2004 11:09:00 AM

Comcast Corp. began serving up The Tennis Channel to its Atlanta-area subscribers March 1, the network said Wednesday.

"This is an excellent, logical next step for The Tennis Channel, given Atlanta’s renowned passion for tennis," Tennis senior vice president of distribution Randy Brown said in a prepared statement. "We’re delighted to be able to reach so many tennis fans with Comcast’s extensive subscriber base."

The MSO serves approximately 600,000 subscribers in metropolitan Atlanta.

The network also launched new monthly magazine show Open Access March 7.

The series takes audiences behind the scenes at the most anticipated events in professional tennis.
