Concurrent Expands Server Line

Concurrent Computer Corp. is introducing a new, upgraded 'MediaHawk' server to its video-on-demand product line.

The 'Model 3000' features throughput capacity of 2.64 gigabits per second, 1,000 hours of storage and 3,250 capable streams in a single rack at 3 megabits per second.

Concurrent said the new model will start shipping commercially this quarter.

The server includes integrated quadrature amplitude modulation, an upconverter package, RAID (redundant array of independent disks) content striping and fiber-channel switch technology for centralized storage applications.
