AT&T Broadband told 1,700 Denver-area employees they won't have jobs after its merger with Comcast Corp.
The MSO said 675 employees would be cut soon after the merger, which is expected to close by the end of the year. The remaining positions will be eliminated within six to nine months after the deal closes.
All departments at headquarters will be trimmed, from legal to marketing to human resources.
'There was a fairly significant amount of job duplication, which is unfortunate, because we have such high-quality people that have accomplished a lot,' CEO Bill Schleyer said Wednesday.
