CSTV-OCSN Deal Graduates

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 3/16/2004 10:33:00 AM

College Sports Television said Tuesday that it has completed its acquisition of Official College Sports Network, originally announced in November.

OCSN -- which will be renamed CollegeSports.com -- builds, hosts, maintains and markets official Web sites for more than 145 college athletic departments, conferences and related associations, and it also operates CollegeSports.com (www.collegesports.com), the most-trafficked Web site devoted exclusively to college-sports news and information.

The company is also the nation's largest seller of college-licensed merchandise on the Internet through its network of official online stores.

"We are excited about partnering with schools and conferences that recognize the value of utilizing interactive technologies to build and strengthen relationships with alumni, students and fans," CSTV CEO Brian Bedol said in a prepared statement.

"The addition of CollegeSports.com to our portfolio, and its broad and deep coverage of intercollegiate athletics, enables us to provide unparalleled value to our distribution, programming and marketing partners," he added.
