Insight Strikes Excite@Home Deal

Insight Communications Co. Inc. became the latest MSO to sign a provisioning agreement with Excite@Home Corp.
Insight president Michael Willner said the agreement was signed Friday morning and provisioning resumed at 7 a.m.
The company declined to give specifics on the deal.
Insight is the seventh MSO to sign interim provisioning agreements with Excite@Home, nine days after the cable-modem service provider told cable operators it would no longer add new customers to the service to conserve cash.
Among the other MSOs that have signed agreements are Comcast Corp., AT&T Broadband, Cox Communications Inc., Mediacom Communications Corp., Rogers Cable Inc. and Midcontinent Media Inc.
Although none of the MSOs released specifics on their new agreements, it has been speculated that the new deals included some upfront cash to be paid to Excite@Home.
