G4 Snags Time Warner

Comcast Corp.-owned video-game network G4 has closed a carriage deal that will roll it out to nearly all of Time Warner Cable's digital homes over the next two years.
The affiliation deal with Time Warner will bring G4's commitments for digital homes to 12 million, double its current 6 million subscriber base, according to a G4 spokeswoman.
Time Warner will begin launching G4 in select markets starting next month.
The network, which runs original programming on all aspects of video games, also has distribution agreements with owner Comcast, Insight Communications Co. and AT&T Broadband.
"This is a testament to the strength of G4's content and the ever-expanding video-game business, which fuels growing interest in our channel," G4 Media chief operating officer Debra Green said in a statement.
G4's original programming includes 13 series featuring the latest information about electronic games, including "what's hot" previews and reviews, documentaries, game tips, competitions, events and specials.
"Comcast is extremely please G4 will be carried on Time Warner," Comcast vice president of programming investments Amy Banse said in a statement. "Since G4's debut in April, the network has gained continuous ground with viewers and cable companies alike because of its core appeal to the key 12-to-34-year-old demographic."
