NY1 Plans Latino News Spinoff

Time Warner Cable's New York 1 News plans to launch a Spanish-language spinoff next year, news-network officials said.

The yet-to-be-named, 24-hour service has received budget approval and a berth on Time Warner Cable of New York City's digital tier, NY1 senior vice president and general manager Steve Paulus said.

It will likely launch near the end of first-quarter 2003 or at the beginning of the second quarter, he added.
