ABC Family Has Sat. Night Plans

After saying last month that a repurposed block of ABC fare would be one of the components of a multipronged plan to revamp the network, ABC Family president Angela Shapiro revealed the network's new Saturday-night lineup Thursday.
ABC Family will showcase a quartet of episodes from ABC's Tuesday-night roster, Life with Bonnie and Less Than Perfect, when it bows 'ABC+' Oct. 26.
Culling these episodes -- complemented by exclusive interviews, behind-the-scenes-looks and other interstitial material -- will give ABC Family viewers a chance to catch up with the ABC series.
Then Nov. 2, Shapiro said, ABC Family will trot out its regular ABC+ lineup: a movie from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., followed by Bonnie at 9 p.m. and Perfect at 9:30 p.m.
The network will conclude its Saturday with another two-hour film through midnight.
'ABC+ offers great programming, as well as enhanced viewing experience,' Shapiro said in a prepared statement. 'From talent interviews to behind-the-scenes footage, ABC+ will offer viewers exciting extras not available anywhere else.'
Other programming gambits ABC Family is considering include: reality programming, anchored by My Life as a Sitcom; the rollout of up to 20 original interstitials weekly, some of which could be developed into shows; and a 'trend ticker' that would run on the lower third of the screen and provide viewers with pop-culture info.
