Three Join Cable Center Board

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 5/12/2003 1:05:00 PM

The Cable Center announced the election of three new members to its board of directors: James Chiddix, president of AOL Time Warner Inc.'s Interactive Personal Video Group; James Duratz of the Barco-Duratz Foundation; and David Zaslav, president of NBC Cable Networks.

They join a board chaired by Bresnan Communications president Bill Bresnan and comprised of more than 40 cable and telecommunications executives.

"We ask the members of our board of directors to take an active role in the center, and not simply to lend their name to a worthy cause," Cable Center president and CEO Bob Russo said in a prepared statement.

"As a result, we are very pleased with the level of expertise we've been able to attract," he added. "Clearly, we have some of the best minds in cable programming, operations, technology and manufacturing leading our organization, and that will facilitate the continued successful growth of The Cable Center."

The Denver-based organization's mission is to develop and promote industry-related educational, training, research and communications programs.
