E! Has Jones for Emmy Coverage

E! Entertainment Television, which lost red-carpet stars Joan and Melissa Rivers to TV Guide Channel, will fill its Emmy countdown hosting role with Star Jones, co-host of ABC’s The View.

Other talent covering the event Sunday night will be Robert Verdi, newly announced host of Fashion Police; veteran host Brook Burke of the network’s Wild on…series; entertainment reporter Sam Rubin of KTLA in Los Angeles; E! Online reporter Kristin Veitch; Andrew Firestone; and actor/comedian Mystro Clark.

E! will program six hours of countdown coverage to the Emmy Awards, and it will resume with postshow coverage from 11 p.m.-1 a.m. John Burke will anchor the latter portion, with reporting from Patrick Stinson and Giuliana DePandi.

The fashion review, normally also hosted by the Riverses, is scheduled for Sept. 20 at 10 p.m., hosted by Verdi.
