Nick, THQ to Play On Through 2010

Nickelodeon and THQ Inc. have extended their video-game-licensing arrangement through 2010, the two companies said Monday.
THQ will continue to publish games based on all existing and future Nick animated TV and movie properties, targeting kids 6-14, across all viable game systems.
"Since the inception of our partnership in 1998, THQ and Nickelodeon have pioneered kids’ gaming, releasing six No. 1 titles and selling through more than 20 million units worldwide," president of Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products Leigh Anne Brodsky said in a prepared statement.
"THQ has been a great partner to date, and we look forward to building our video-game business into an even more important category for Nickelodeon," she added.
Added THQ CEO Brian Farrell, “We are thrilled with the ongoing success of brands like SpongeBob SquarePants and our jointly developed Tak property, and we look forward to growing our business with the launch of several new Nickelodeon properties, including Barnyard and Danny Phantom.”
The two companies also announced the release of “Nicktoons Basketball for PC” Monday.
“The game features all of the favorite characters from the most popular Nickelodeon shows, including SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents and Jimmy Neutron, just to name a few,” said Doug Clemmer, president of THQ's ValuSoft division, in a prepared statement.
