Vendors Win Belated CableLabs Stamps

Cable Television Laboratories Inc.'s latest testing round ended last month, but a flurry of appeals has generated a second crop of certification and qualification winners.

Following the initial announcement July 25 detailing the winners of certification wave 26, six more cable modems have been awarded Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification 2.0 certification, following appeals.

They are from Askey Computer Corp., Joohong Information and Communications Ltd., Motorola Inc., Scientific-Atlanta Inc. and ZyXEL Communications Co.

Also added to the certification list was an embedded multimedia-terminal adapter from S-A, which won PacketCable certification. And Cedar Point Communications Inc.'s "Safari" call-management server won PacketCable-qualification status.
