By Matt Stump -- Multichannel News, 10/4/2004 12:05:00 PM

Cox Communications Inc. said it launched voice-over-Internet-protocol service in Tulsa, Okla., Monday -- its second VoIP launch following Roanoke, Va., earlier this year.

The MSO added that it will launch its “Cox Digital Telephone” service in Baton Rouge, La., later this month, using VoIP technology, and that launches for its southwest Louisiana systems will occur later this year.

Cox also said it will begin offering business customers in Roanoke VoIP services later this year.

In other VoIP news, Qwest Communications International Inc. announced that it is offering VoIP services combined with high-speed data for its business customers under the “OneFlex Integrated Access” brand name.

The service is available in Seattle; Salt Lake City; Portland, Ore.; Phoenix; Minneapolis; Omaha, Neb.; Denver; Des Moines, Iowa; and Albuquerque, N.M., among other cities.
