2005 Goodwill Games Set for Canada

The 2005 Goodwill Games will originate from Calgary, Alberta.

Goodwill Games president Michael Plant said in the latest issue of Goodwill Games Record that the inclusion of ice hockey in the 2005 games was 'critical in their decision to partner with us, as it is a major part of their sports culture.'

Similarly, he added, 2001 site Brisbane, Australia, will include surf lifesaving in its coverage, due on Turner Network Television Aug. 29 through Sept. 9.

Turner said this year's event will be supported by advertising in print, radio and online, as well as by more than 14,000 promotion spots on all Turner Broadcasting System Inc. cable networks, including CNN Airport Network, starting June 12.
