Michelle Spaulding joined Carlsen Resources Inc. as director of diversity recruitment for the company's new diversity unit. Spaulding's responsibilities will include building and maintaining a database of minority candidates.
Comcast
Comcast Cable Communications Inc. promoted Debra Thacker to area vice president for Bucks and Montgomery counties. Thacker previously was vice president and general manager of the Montgomery County cable system.
EWTN
Peter Gagnon was named director of on-air promotion and program scheduling at EWTN Global Catholic Network. Gagnon, who has been with EWTN for more than nine years, had been director of on-air promotion.
Fox Alternative Productions
Fox Alternative Productions namedCathy Veisel manager of creative affairs. Veisel will oversee alternative program development, format acquisitions and talent scouting.
Fox News Channel
Robert Zimmerman was promoted to vice president of media relations for Fox News Channel. Fox News also elevated Irena Steffen to senior director of public relations.
Henninger Media
Brian Kelly was named vice president of Henninger Media Services. Kelly also retains his previous positions of executive producer and general manager of Henninger Productions.
HBO
Home Box Office hired Mike Garcia as director of original programming. Garcia previously served as director of TV development for Industry Entertainment.
Luminous
In an expansion of its executive team, Luminous Networks added Brian Noel as vice president of marketing and business development and promoted Seshadri Srinivasan to vice president of engineering and Tricia Hill to vice president of strategic partnerships.
MTV
Amy Ramsden was promoted to manager of affiliate marketing for MTV. Ramsden, who joined MTV Affiliate Marketing in 1997, previously served as marketing coordinator. MTV Networks also named Dawn Jones vice president of finance for affiliate sales and marketing; and Lauren Lazin was appointed senior vice president of MTV News & Docs.
Nat Geo
National Geographic Television & Film appointed William Weil senior vice president of marketing and business development. Weil will manage the daily business operations of the video and sponsorship ventures.
Oxygen
Lydia Stephans was named executive vice president of production for Oxygen. She had been president and executive producer of Oxygen Sports.
Sony Pictures
Andy Kaplan was promoted senior executive vice president of international networks for Sony Pictures Television International. During his time at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Kaplan was pivotal in the launch and operation of Game Show Network.
StarNet
StarNet appointed David Stengle CEO. Stengle, who has served as the organization's interim president for 18 months, will oversee and direct strategic planning for StarNet and manage all day-to-day aspects of the company.
Univision
Univision Communications appointed Timothy Krass to the position of executive vice president of affiliate relations. Krass will manage affiliate relations within the cable and satellite industries for Univision, Telefutura and Galavision.
