Comcast Corp. said Monday that its acquisition of TechTV from Vulcan Inc. is final, and the MSO will merge the network with its G4 video-game-themed network.
Beginning May 28, the two networks will become one network called G4TechTV, which will be available in approximately 44 million cable and satellite homes nationwide.
G4TechTV will be headquartered in Los Angeles.
“We are confident that G4TechTV will offer value to the many affiliates, advertisers, content partners and viewers of both G4 and TechTV," G4TechTV CEO Charles Hirschhorn said in a prepared statement.
“The combined programming lineup will let viewers continue to enjoy their favorite shows while, at the same time, introducing them to new programming,” he added. “Additionally, we have begun to develop new, exciting original programming that will premiere later this year.”
