Showtime's Soul Food and Disney Channel's The Proud Family garnered the lion's share of cable's National Association for the Advancement of Colored People "Image Awards" nominations.
Overall, shows from Black Entertainment Television, Home Box Office, Showtime, VH1, Disney and FX earned nominations for the awards, which celebrate entertainment projects and personalities that promote positive images of people of color.
Showtime dramatic series Soul Food was nominated for seven awards, including "Outstanding Drama Series," while Disney animated show The Proud Family took home five nominations.
Cable shows generated a clean sweep in nominations for the "Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series" and "Actor in a Television Movie, Miniseries or Dramatic Special" categories, according to the organization.
Along with Soul Food, Home Box Office's The Wire and Six Feet Under were also tapped for "Outstanding Drama Series," alongside broadcast network Fox's 24 and Boston Public.
The Image Awards show will be held in March.
