Get the ‘Spoken Word’ from Music Choice

Music Choice will launch a special “Spoken.Word.Music” programming block on its “Smooth R&B” channel Nov. 14 at 9 a.m. (EST), the network said Tuesday.
The block “is dedicated to recording artists who have taken social poetry to a new level by mixing it with melodic, smooth R&B music,” Music Choice said.
The network has also teamed up with Genesis Poets to encourage spoken-word/poetry artists to submit their material online (www.genesispoets.com) for a chance to be included on the Spoken.Word.Music play list.
“Music Choice is excited to expose our audience to the mix of music and poetry that represents one of today’s fastest-growing genres,” senior director of programming Damon Williams said in a prepared statement. “As the leader in diverse music programming, Music Choice is excited to collaborate with Genesis Poets to promote spoken-word artists.”
