MTV2 Names New Programming Exec

MTV: Music Television Wednesday named veteran executive Alex Coletti to the new position of MTV2 executive in charge of programming and production.
In this new post, Coletti will be responsible for producing and developing interactive and creative programming for the digital channel, MTV entertainment president Brian Graden said.
Coletti will also oversee the production staff, cultivating MTV2 on-air talent and managing editorial content.
Coletti -- who most recently produced the MTV Video Music Awards and numerous Unplugged concerts -- will also work closely with MTV production and programming to identify opportunities for collaborative programming.
'Alex's talent and passion for music and television will be a tremendous asset to MTV2 as we continue to develop into a full-service music network with more live specials, more Unplugged performances and more programming enhancing MTV and MTV.com,' Graden said. 'Today's announcement shows just how serious we are about MTV2.'
