Starz Encore Sets Baseball, Bill Stunts

America’s pastime and matinee hero “Wild Bill” Elliott will be part of October stunts on Starz Encore Group LLC networks.

True Stories will air a “Legends of Baseball” marathon Saturday, Oct. 23, leading up to game one of the World Series. The network will air The Babe Ruth Story, The Jackie Robinson Story, A Winner Never Quits, A League of Their Own, Babe Ruth, There Was Always Sun Shining Some Place and The Babe.

And Westerns will celebrate Elliott’s birthday on three consecutive Wednesdays -- Oct. 13, 20 and 27 -- by airing Calling Wild Bill Elliott, Bordertown Gun Fighters, Prairie Schooners, Hands Across the Rockies, The Man from Tumbleweeds and The Savage Horde.
