MTV: Music Television is now in production on The Real World -- The Lost
Season, an original movie inspired by the channel's
long-running reality series.
The film -- a parody of reality TV and the
show itself, which centers on a new cast in Vancouver -- is scheduled to air
August 6.
Real World Chicago -- MTV's current iteration of the
show, which began in 1992 -- is the highest-rated run in series history,
averaging a 3.5 household rating and a 4.3 for the network's 12-through-34
target demo season-to-date, according to Nielsen Media Research.
