New York-Nielsen Media Research and TiVo Inc. signed an agreement last week to enable audience measurement of TiVo's personal video recorders.
The goal is to gather "critical information about how viewers use the TiVo service and PVRs in general," Nielsen vice president of marketing and technology Scott Brown said.
Last April, Nielsen and ReplayTV Inc., the other major PVR manufacturer, signed a similar agreement.
