Rainbow Media Holdings Inc.’s World Picks will bring four different ethnic on-demand programming services to six RCN Corp. markets.
The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, makes World Picks On Demand the first ethnic on-demand programming service -- featuring programming in Russian, Spanish, Hindi and Mandarin -- to be offered in Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
The agreement, the parties said, will also expand the service’s coverage in the New York DMA, where RCN will bow the World Picks services Oct. 22.
World Picks On Demand executives said each service will provide 20 hours of exclusive, nonreplicated international programming per month. New content is added each week, with the entire lineup refreshed after 30 days.
