Charter Communications Inc. will use Cedar Point Communications Inc.’s “SAFARI C³ Media Switching System” for voice-over-Internet-protocol in select markets, the MSO said Tuesday.
The first SAFARI rollouts will occur in the MSO’s Northeast region, Charter said.
“The simplicity of Cedar Point’s integrated solution and their having been qualified at CableLabs [Cable Television Laboratories Inc.] to PacketCable specifications were key factors in our selection of Cedar Point as a vendor,” Charter vice president of telephony Mark Barber said in a prepared statement.
