Dressler: Cable Will Get NFL PPV

By Multi Channel News Staff -- Multichannel News, 3/8/2002 12:10:00 PM

'We have high hopes to have' the National Football League's 'NFL Sunday Ticket' out-of-market pay-per-view package 'by the 2003 season,' Time Warner Cable executive vice president of programming Fred Dressler said during the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing Digital Conference in Los Angeles Friday.

Dressler's comments were made during a comparison of the content on direct-broadcast satellite and cable platforms.

He said that if cable were to get the NFL out-of-market package, 'there's no reason to think [consumers] wouldn't drop DBS for cable.'
