The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers has named a new chair for its engineering committee.
Comcast Corp. vice president of digital engineering Charlie Kennamer, a member of the MSO’s advanced engineering group, will serve as the committee’s chair, replacing General Communication Inc. chief technical officer Dan Pike, who has been chair since August 1997.
The SCTE’s engineering committee is responsible for all standards and recommended-practices activities, and any committees, subcommittees and working groups or task forces necessary for standards and practices development report to it.
