To avoid scheduling conflicts with its New York Yankees Major League Baseball
telecasts, Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network announced Monday that it
has come to an agreement with WLNY-TV 55 to broadcast four New Jersey Nets
National Basketball Association games scheduled to appear on YES.
The agreement also calls for WLNY to potentially carry additional
regular-season Nets games if necessary. All WLNY telecasts of Nets games will be
produced by YES and use YES announcers.
"We're pleased to have such a quality station such as WLNY-TV 55 broadcast
the New Jersey Nets games due to scheduling conflicts that prevent us from
televising the games," YES chairman and CEO Leo J. Hindery Jr. said in a
prepared statement.
The games are as follows: March 31 versus the Houston Rockets, April 2 at the
New Orleans Hornets, April 4 versus the Miami Heat and April 6 at the Toronto
Raptors.
