Lifetime Gets Boost for Cancer Campaign

Lifetime Television on Tuesday announced seven corporate sponsors for its seventh annual 'Our Lifetime Commitment: Stop Breast Cancer For Life' campaign, due to run next month, which is 'National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.'
The seven sponsors are: AFLAC, Albertson's Family of Stores, Ford Motor Co., Johnson & Johnson, Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America, Revlon Inc. and Sears, Roebuck & Co.
The network, whose affiliates also participate in the month-long public-service campaign and a tie-in sweepstakes, also announced a slate of related original programming for October showing.
These ranged from the Women Rock! Girls & Guitars special and a weeklong series of Intimate Portrait profiles of women affected by breast cancer, to especially themed episodes of the series Women Docs, Beyond Chance and Strong Medicine.
In addition, Lifetime earlier this month began the online component of its breast-cancer awareness efforts.
